Please read the following instructions carefully and ensure that your team is fully prepared before arriving for the Internal Hackathon.

All team members must report to MN Saha Auditorium, Rajabazar Campus by 9:40 am for team registration and the inauguration beginning at 10:00 am. Carrying a University ID card or any valid Government ID proof is mandatory.
Note: The auditorium will not be used as the competition venue. Teams may remain here beyond their presentation slot.
The competition is divided into four technical slots of approximately 90 minutes each, covering 8–9 teams per slot. Presenting within the allocated slot is mandatory.
Note: A 10–15 minute setup period will be provided before each session for model, poster and PowerPoint preparation.
Each team must carry a hard copy of the one-page write-up submitted through the SIH2026 submission system of IIC CU.
Note: The hard copy must be signed by all team members and will be collected by the session volunteers.
Presentations will be conducted in exhibition mode at PN Ghosh Lecture Hall, Applied Physics Building, and NR Sen Hall, Palit Building, Rajabazar Campus.
Note: Slot A & B presentations begin from 10:30 am. Slot C & D presentations begin from 12:15 pm.
No deviation from the proposal submitted through the SIH2026 submission system will be allowable.
Note: Ensure that your presentation, prototype and demonstration remain consistent with the submitted proposal.
Each team must present a strictly 10-slide MS PowerPoint on their own laptop, demonstrate the working of their hardware prototype (if any), and present a poster (optional) before the experts.
Note: Dedicated space will be provided for model setup, poster display and demonstration. The entire approximately 90-minute slot will remain open for evaluation and discussion.
Evaluation will primarily focus on four key aspects of your proposal:
Teams should arrange their own laptop, extension board, power supply and any other accessories required for presenting and demonstrating their proposal.
Note: Please ensure all necessary equipment is tested and ready before your allocated slot.
A working lunch will be arranged for participants against production of food coupons.
Note: Please collect your food coupons during the attendance check at your respective halls.
Certificate of participation and money receipt will be provided to participants on the same day.

SIH 2026
From the internal hackathon to the Grand Finale, follow the key stages of the Smart India Hackathon 2026 journey.
Registration and onboarding of Single Point of Contacts for the internal hackathon process.
Institutions conduct their internal hackathon to identify promising student teams and ideas.
Problem statements for Smart India Hackathon are launched for participating institutions.
Compilation of the internal hackathon report followed by uploading the required details on the portal.
Top-performing teams are nominated and their ideas are submitted on the SIH portal.
Submitted ideas undergo the screening and evaluation process.
Results of the screening process are published for participating teams.
Finalist teams are informed about their selection for the next stage.
Selected teams participate in mentoring and training sessions to strengthen their ideas.
Shortlisted students and teams for the SIH Grand Finale are announced.
The journey culminates in the Smart India Hackathon Grand Finale.

Everything you need to know before registering for the Internal Hackathon. Please review the terms, registration requirements, and event details carefully.
Participation Guidelines
The following conditions apply to all teams participating in the Internal Hackathon. Submission of a proposal will be considered an acceptance of these participation requirements.
Each team should consist of six student members, all from Calcutta University. Cross-department collaboration is allowed, and every team must include at least one female member and a team leader.
A single team, with all 6 members identical, can submit ideas against maximum of 2 Problem Statements only, but separate registration should be done for each proposal. At least 3 members from each team must be physically present at the venue to defend the proposal.
A non-refundable registration fee of INR 500 per team must be deposited in the IIC CU bank account.
The screenshot of the registration payment must be uploaded along with the proposal during the registration process.
Provide a short team name of no more than 15 characters while submitting the proposal.
The decision of the jury members on evaluation of the proposals will be final.
The name of any faculty member, if any, should not be mentioned anywhere in the proposal, Google Form, or the Internal Hackathon presentation.
All communications from the organizers will be primarily directed to the team leader. Organizers will not take responsibility for any lack of communication between team members.
Once a proposal is submitted, the team leader and mandatory female member cannot be changed before the Internal Hackathon.
If a member wants to step down after the proposal is submitted, and provides a sufficient acceptable reason, no new member can be inducted before the Internal Hackathon.
Important
Teams are advised to carefully review every requirement before submitting their proposal, as certain team details cannot be modified after submission.
Mark your calendar and make sure your team is ready with all required submissions and documentation.
